Overview

Huw's career spans investment banking, hedge fund analytics, and entrepreneurship. He began at Goldman Sachs before joining Bridgewater Associates as a Senior Management Associate in Portfolio Analytics at the world's largest hedge fund. He then acquired Jungle Disk from Rackspace in 2016, a cybersecurity company he later sold, before co-founding CyberFortress, a VC-backed insurtech startup, and Porthcawl Holdings, a technology holding company investing in SaaS and bitcoin.

He joined Talentism in 2024 as an executive coach, bringing a rare perspective as a former Talentism client who experienced the methodology firsthand while building CyberFortress. He coaches founders and leadership teams through growth trajectories and turnarounds, with particular strength in helping leaders find clarity on founder identity, purpose, and the pressures unique to VC and PE backed companies.

Outside of work

Huw is a proud Welshman living in San Antonio with his wife and young son whose compulsions include radical self-discipline, creating inspiring visions, and running 100-mile mountain races.
